Post-Secondary Dual Education, Level V of the Albanian Qualifications Framework (AQF), is a cooperation model between vocational education institutions and businesses, where professional learning is combined with real experience in the workplace. It aims to prepare professionals with the knowledge, skills and competences to work in activities related to the management of accommodation facilities in the hospitality industry.
How Post-Secondary Dual Education works

AQF Level V
A post-secondary programme that prepares professionals with the knowledge, skills and competences for the management of accommodation facilities in the hospitality industry.

Weekly schedule
3 days a week at the business, where professional practice takes place in real work processes, and 2 days a week at school, where the professional modules and subjects are taught.

Learning meets work
Learning at school and experience at the business are interwoven to develop direct professional competences that are applicable in the workplace.

The business instructor
The business appoints an experienced instructor who, in cooperation with the teacher, supports, motivates, supervises and evaluates the individuals during the practice.

The hospitality sector
The programme links vocational education with labour market needs and prepares professionals for hotels, resorts, agritourism venues, guesthouses and other hospitality establishments.

Certification
After successfully completing the qualification and the final exams, individuals receive the AQF Level V Professional Certificate and the corresponding Supplement, recognized throughout the Republic of Albania.

Your duties as a business
- Sign the cooperation agreement with the vocational education institution and the practice documentation.

- Cooperate with the teacher and the educational institution on the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the practice.

Who can be a business that offers Post-Secondary Dual Education?
- Private businesses with 3+ years in the market and at least 2 registered employees.
- Public entities that meet the legal criteria.
- Suitable infrastructure and qualified staff for mentoring.
Who is Post-Secondary Dual Education for?
- For young people who have completed AQF Level IV and wish to gain new knowledge or deepen their professional skills in the hotel and hospitality sector.
- For individuals who have completed the professional qualification “Hospitality-Tourism”, AQF Level IV.
- For individuals with another AQF Level IV qualification and at least 1 year of verified work experience in the hospitality field.
Upon completion, individuals can work as middle managers in hotels, resorts, agritourism venues, guesthouses and other hospitality establishments, or develop their own business in this sector.
